Our Proud History
Hop Products Australia (HPA), formerly Australian Hop Marketers, has been growing hops in Australia for over 20 years. HPA is the southern hemisphere’s representative of the global Barth-Haas Group, which was founded in 1794.
HPA farms at ‘Bushy Park Estates’ in Tasmania, and ‘Rostrevor Hop Gardens’ in Victoria are steeped in history having both grown hops since the 1800’s. In fact, there are few hop farms in the world which can equal Bushy Park’s claim to having grown hops uninterruptedly for nearly one and a half centuries despite all of the cycles of the hop market. Similarly, Rostrevor also has a rich hop growing culture having been selected as an ideal hop growing area by Chinese immigrants in the 1890’s, and has grown hops continually since.
