Bushy Park Estates

HPA’s Tasmanian hop garden is located in the Derwent Valley approximately 55kms north west of Hobart. Bushy Park Estates was established as a hop farm in 1867, making the Australian Hop Industry an equivalent age to that of the renowned hop growing region of Tettnang in Germany. The present farm occupies approximately 230 hectares.

In 1992 a major upgrade of facilities was undertaken at Bushy Park Estates resulting in a drying and picking complex as modern and technologically advanced as any in the world. The two Dauenhauer picking machines and 12 kiln floors have a total capacity of 35-45 Tonnes of dry hops per 24 hours. The plant has the capacity to pellet Tasmania’s total crop.
