Tasmanian grown Cascade has been propagated from Cascade plants imported from the USA by Hop Products Australia and is very similar to the US grown Cascade variety. It is characterized by a dark green elongated cone which contains low amounts of alpha acids. The aroma is of medium strength and very distinct.

Super Pride

The Australian hop variety Super Pride is a seedless high alpha acid variety, bred by the Hop Products Australia Rostrevor breeding programme. Bred from the famous Pride of Ringwood – Australia’s dominant hop variety since the 1960’s – Super Pride features similar mild aromas and low Cohumulone levels. Super Pride has higher alpha acid than its mother Pride of Ringwood.

Topaz

Topaz was originally selected as a seedless high alpha-acid hop for the production of extract, but recent work has shown it to have excellent flavour potential, to the point that a beer hopped solely with Topaz was the most preferred of a group of five single hop beers by tasters at Brau 2010.

The Australian grown hop variety Willamette is a seedless aroma variety grown by Hop Products Australia since 1988. Willamette has Fuggle type aroma qualities. It is known for its aromatic properties and moderate bittering. It has been used as a replacement for Fuggle hops. It is characterised by moderate alpha acids (moderately bittering) and aroma qualities.
