Understanding the contribution of hop to beer flavour – a search for the Holy Grail
This week the Craft Beer Industry Association (CBIA) kicked off their fifth Australian Craft Brewers Conference (ACBC) and Craft Beer Awards
As part of the exhibition, HPA’s very own Dr. Simon Whittock presented a research paper on understanding the contribution of hop to beer flavour – a search for the Holy Grail.
To be specific, the research focuses on understanding the chemistry in hops that results in beer flavour, then turns to investigate the biosynthesis and genes responsible. Which then in turn improves hop breeding, selection and production process.
The ACBC runs from 18 July – 21 July, visit us at stall #26 to sample the hops we have on show.
