Work continues on our new pelleting, packaging and storage facility in Myrtleford – now officially named “Hop Central”. Unfortunately, we missed the initial deadline of April 2023, largely due to delays in equipment shipments and site compliance issues which have taken much longer than expected to resolve. The good news is that all equipment is now on site and the processing tower is currently being insulated. Once the exterior of the tower is clad and roofing completed, the electrical teams will be able to install machine control cabinets and complete the wiring and automation installation. Many components have already been commissioned individually, and we expect to process hops (bales set aside from crop 2024) in late October/early November.
As communicated at the recent staff updates, we have now settled on twelve strategic targets for next financial year. This one-page document will be posted to notice boards across the business in the coming days. There is a lot of work to be undertaken by each and every one of us to achieve these target outcomes. Broadly speaking, the objectives for the next twelve months fall under the headings of Safety, Quality and Productivity. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself, the leadership team or your manager if you have any questions.
